Environmental Awards for Princess

The ports of San Francisco, California and Victoria, BC, Canada have presented environmental awards to Princess Cruises for the 2011 cruise season.

In San Francisco, Princess was recognized for their waste water management, recycling and disposal programs and their reduced emissions while in port. At the San Francisco cruise port, ships can " plug in" and not need their generators to provide power.

In Victoria BC, Princess was honored for their emissions reduction efforts consuming low sulfur diesel fuels. More details about these presentations can be found at cruiseradio.net.

  1. I just wish more cruiselines could follow in Princess's footsteps as one cruiselines really doesn't make that much difference if you consider just how many ships there are and the amount of pollution they cause- I hate to think how much waste is dumped after a cruise on mega cruise ship Oasis of the Seas
